Elevate Center for Upskilling
"Leveraging Private Sector Innovation: Creating Healthcare Jobs and Enhancing Healthcare Quality"
Creating Jobs, Saving Lives: Empowering Skilled Health Workers.
The Elevate Center for Upskilling addresses health workforce challenges with sustainable solutions. We provide industry-aligned training to create entry-level jobs in the health sector for unemployed high school graduates. Additionally, we offer in-service training to healthcare workers, public health providers, and policymakers in Ethiopia, aiming to elevate proficiency, enhance productivity, and improve healthcare quality.
What problem are we solving?
We are dedicated to addressing Ethiopia's unemployment and skills gaps in the health sector. With 60% of the population under 30, nearly two million new job seekers enter the labor market annually (World Bank, 2024). To tackle this, we need to boost healthcare employment opportunities, especially for women and youth, ensuring they gain the necessary skills.Additionally, the limited availability of in-service training for medical practitioners hinders continuous professional development, impacting the quality of care and leading to poor patient outcomes.
Value propositions
Elevate Center for Upskilling aims to demonstrate a sustainable, private sector-driven model that enhances skills, generates employment, and improves health outcomes in Ethiopia. Our innovative approach empowers unemployed youth and builds the skills of healthcare workers to enhance quality of care.
Background
Training health workers is pivotal for both improving healthcare quality and driving job creation in the sector. By enhancing the skills of healthcare professionals through education and ongoing development, training not only boosts service standards but also meets growing healthcare demands, thereby stimulating employment opportunities. This training is particularly crucial in low-resource settings where skilled health workers play a vital role in reducing morbidity and mortality rates by providing essential care.
Focus
Investment in healthcare workforce development is critical for improving healthcare outcomes, creating job opportunities, and enhancing the overall economy. At Elevate, we believe that investing in healthcare training is one of the most effective ways to address the healthcare workforce deficit in Ethiopia. Our specialized training programs and in-service training aim to upskill and employ young people, improve the quality of healthcare delivery, and promote economic growth. By partnering with us, you are investing in a sustainable solution to the healthcare workforce challenge and contributing to the development of Ethiopia's healthcare industry.
Target Audience
Elevate Center for Upskilling aims to provide high quality in-service training to health care professionals, public health service providers and health policy makers.
